TRAILER TRAINING

Our trailer training for the B+E Car and Trailer licence allows drivers to legally tow larger trailers or
caravans. Most importantly, having the B+E categories on your driving licence is necessary for drivers
who passed their car driving test on or after 1st January 1997, and wish to tow trailers/vehicles &
trailers with a combined MIN (gross train weight) of up to 3,500kg.

We can also offer trailer training for those that already have the above categories on their driving
licence, but would like some training to improve towing skills.

Whatever your individual trailer training needs, Go Direct School Of Motoring Limited can tailor a
course to your requirements.

Our training prices and pre-set course costs are as below:

Individual trailer training on a 1-2-1 basis £50 per hour (1 driver – 1 instructor)
Trailer training on a 2-2-1 basis £75 per hour (2 drivers – 1 instructor)

Option 1 - 3 hour session (including B+E test) - £265

1.5 hour warm up session prior to B+E test
Use of our vehicle and trailer for duration of B+E test (approx 90 minutes)
B+E test fee (£115)

This course would be recommended to a driver with an already excellent level of towing, trailer use
(coupling/uncoupling etc.) and general driving as minimal driver improvements would be able to be
made in the warm up session. The warm up session would usually be more than sufficient for the
driver to become comfortable and familiar with the use of our training vehicle and trailer.

Option 2 – 6 hour individual course (including B+E test) - £415

4.5 hours trailer/driving training
Use of our vehicle and trailer for duration of B+E test (approx 90 minutes)
B+E test fee (£115)

This course would be recommended to a driver with a good level of trailer towing experience. Usual
practice would be to carry the course out of 1 day with the B+E test following the training.

Option 3 – 10 hour individual course (including B+E test) - £565

8.5 hours trailer/driving training
Use of our vehicle and trailer for duration of B+E test (approx 90 minutes)
B+E test fee (£115)

This course would be recommended to a driver with trailer towing experience. Usual practice would
be to carry the course out over 2 days with the B+E test following the training on the second day.

Option 4 – 12 hour couples course (2 drivers) (including B+E test) x 2 - £950

9 hours trailer/driving training (shared driving)
Use of our vehicle and trailer for duration of B+E test x 2 (approx 3 hours)
B+E test fee x 2 (£230)

This course would be recommended to drivers with trailer towing experience. Usual practice would
be to carry the course out of 2 days with the B+E tests following the training at the end of the
second day. This is one of our most popular course options due to the extra learning that takes place
by the drivers from observing each other, as well as the professional instruction.
